CLONING: THE GRAVEN IMAGE OF GOD'S CREATION? By Ron Patton As the media promulgates the controversial "recent" cloning of sheep and monkeys, justifiable concerns by many have surfaced as to the potentially horrific implications this scientific process entails. Contextually within the Ten Commandments, we read in Exodus 20:4, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in the heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water underneath." Although historically the translation for graven image or "pecel" in Hebrew has primarily meant, " a carved or engraved idol", one can contemporarily postulate its connotation as being a representation of the original image Yahweh created Himself -- man (Genesis 1:26-27). Further scriptural confirmation is found in Deuteronomy 4:16, "Lest ye corrupt yourselves and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female...". In the secular realm, movies like Boys From Brazil, which depicts the infamous Josef Mengele cloning young Adolf Hitlers, and the dinosaur duplication thriller, Jurassic Park, are now overtly closer to fact than fiction. Documentation pertaining to cloning is found in a published report in 1979 by Robert Gilmore McKinnel, Professor of Genetics and Cell Biology at the University of Minnesota, in which he states, "It has been reported that mice and some large domestic animals have been cloned... Because the reproductive biology of humans is similar to that of mice and other animals, it is likely that humans could be cloned." Additionally, a book entitled, In His Image, The Cloning of Man (Lippincott Press, 1978), author David Rorvick purports a project to clone a human was indeed successful. It succinctly describes the reality of gene-splicing, hybridization, and recombinant DNA procedures, "to create humanoid creatures which could be used only to provide a ready supply of organs for transplanting and medical experimentation." The Rand Corporation ostensibly predicted that someday "parahumans" would be created to perform low-grade labor. These synthetic beings, while being mostly human, are combined with extracted DNA cells from other animals. Conspiracy researcher Wendy Wallace, makes an interesting correlation by surmising that, "Perhaps these are soul-less ones with demonically empowered humanoid bodies for the army described in Isaiah 5:27-29." A book corroborating cross-mammal synthesis is The Biological Time Bomb (1968), by Gordon R. Taylor. Taylor describes a 1959 experiment performed in France in which extracted DNA from the cells of cattle (Khaki Campbells) were injected into ducks (White Pekins). To the astonishment of the scientist involved, the actual ducks (first-generation) took on a noticable metamorphosis; distinguished by a change in the color of their feathers and a peculiar curve in their necks -- characteristic of the Khaki Campbells. Congruently, nationally-syndicated writer Andrew Kimbrell revealed startling information about genetic manipulation several years prior to the latest cloning debate. In his intruiging article, Science Is About To Deliver, (June 22, 1993), Kimbrell discloses, "... most Americans are unaware of the current genetic engineers, science facts which in many cases are as chilling as any science fiction... Pigs have been genetically designed to contain human-growth genes in the hopes of creating 'super pigs' that would have more meat... U.S. Government and private researchers have expended billions of taxpayer dollars in the creation of tens of thousands of genetically engineered animals never seen... genetic engineering has the potential to create a vast army of identical clones, each designed to some preset specification -- all could be manufactured to order." In the 1970's, Lord Rothschild a physiologist from England, surreptitiously suggested to genetic scientists that a legal organization be established that would have world-wide jurisdiction to license cloning (How convenient!). He called his recommendation, "Commission on Genetical Control". The individual who may have played an intricate role for some of the major breakthroughs in human genetic engineering, was the diabolical Nazi camp doctor at Aushwitz, Josef Mengele. The "Angel of Death", as he was refered to by inmates, was obsessed with the physiological and biological characteristics of identical twins; in part, for the purpose of breaking or uncovering the DNA code for the genetic replication of "select" individuals. (This was an extension of Fredrich Nietzsche's mythological archtype, "Uebermensch" or Superman.) Since Heinrich Himmler's eugenics program, Lebensborn, was not progressing as quickly as desired, Mengele's ruthless genetic experimentation accelerated toward at the end of the war, sadly at the expense of several thousand lives, if not millions. How this scientific knowledge was appropriated after the war is somewhat speculative. We do know, however, many of the top Nazi doctors and scientists were funneled via South America into the United States under Project PAPERCLIP. These mega-murderers were considered "assets" by the U.S. Government, and conveniently bypassed the the Nuremberg trials. They were responsible for bringing about profound advancements for the Army's various warefare divisions (Chemical, Biological, Psychological,etc.). The most recognized location for possible human cloning is an underground installation near Dulce, New Mexico. This genetic research and development facility on the Jicarella Indian Reservation is under the auspices of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Several credible and independent sources have confirmed the existance of this sight; one of whom is Julianne McKinney, a former U.S. Army Intelligence Officer, who was a specialist in electronic surveillance. Unfortunetly, she has been relentlessly harassed and discredited by the government, because of her persistent efforts in uncovering the truth behind some of the military's "black" operations. Much disinformation has been propogated to make it appear that the Dulce facility is an "alien" controlled complex for the purpose of creating extra-terrestial beings. Organic robotoids are another form of artificial life that differ from clones and synthetics. A prime example of such an entity would be likened to the popular character in Star Trek, "Data". The book, Dynamics Of Change (Prentice-Hall, 1967), thoroughly conveys how genetic maipulation is essential, "... to control the formation of new beings [which] may be one of the most basic developments of the future." In a chapter under the heading of MAN-MACHINE SYMBOSIS, we read, "... Computers exist which can learn, remember , see, seek goals, reason, walk, be irratible, gasp, adapt to an enviroment, and even design improvements in themselves... man-like computers may one day contain plasma circulating through a viscera-like envelope, allowing them to be self-healing." In another chapter under the heading of HUMAN ROBOTS, it reveals, "... An electronic circuit that imitates two neurons, the cells of the human brain has been built and has enabled a robot to deal with some unexpected situations." Biological computer brains for robotoids came as a result of advancements in the miniaturization of "bio-chip" technology and holographic imaging, which is necessary for "brain memory transfer". An undated New York Times article resolutely asserts, "Life is special, and humans even more so, but biological machines are still machines that now can be altered, cloned, and patented." The Holy Bible aptly predicted that knowledge shall increase in the last days before Christ returns (Daniel 12:4). However, like a double-edged sword, that knowledge will also be used for evil purposes (Romans 1:18-25). God's Word also mentions the world will be totally corrupt, as in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37), a period of time which genetically half-bred Nephilim roamed the earth (Genesis 6:4). Biblically-discerning Christians realize Satan attempts to counterfeit God's creation (Isaiah 14:14). We can therefore conclude that Lucifer's ultimate imitation of Yahweh's prized handiwork is the cloning of man. Moreover, we can be assured that this and other blatant deviations from God's commandments will come at a price -- His forthcoming wrath upon all unrighteous flesh (Revelation 19:11-21) Copyright 1997, 2001
